Angst Party is a four-piece alternative rock band based in Durban, South Africa.  They combine a broad range of alternative influences and diverse experience in the pursuit of fun over fear while promoting harmony and hope.

Initially formed in mid-2022 by lead singer, Mika, and guitarist, Adam, it wasn't until after some personnel changes that the party truly started with the arrival of Kat on bass in late 2022, and drummer Brett in early 2023 - both also providing vocal accompaniment. 

With many original songs quickly added to the tank, they released their debut self-produced single 'War' in July 2023.  This was followed in September 2023 by a double victory in the Durban Battle of the Bands competition at Stumpnose Brewery where Angst Party won both 'Best Original Band' and 'Best Band' in an event full of incredible talent.

In late 2023 the band had the opportunity to work with Sonic Studios on their next single, 'Go Again', that was released in March 2024, with an accompanying social media orientated guerilla style music video released in May 2024.  This period coincided with a brief collaboration with Loop Evolution Records for the release of early renditions of both 'Wings' and 'Yellow to Red', though these may no longer be available.

Since then, the band have continued to perform regularly at venues around Durban, including the Ales for Tails craft beer and music festival (2024 & 2025) as well as the legendary Ballito Pro (2024).  

They spent the end of 2024 into early 2025 recording what was initially planned as their debut album and released its intended lead single, 'Boots Off!' in June 2025. But, following the release of second single 'Fate' in July 2025, the band decided to rather release the recordings as a series of singles over the remainder of the year to better showcase the diversity in their repertoire. Their third single of 2025, and first ballad, 'Wasting My Time' was released in November 2025.  Watch this space for more upcoming releases and future updates!
